The Kathmandu Valley, capital city of Nepal has nearly 130 important monuments with several pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists. UNESCO has provided recognition of World Heritage properties for seven sites of the valley.
Lumbini birth place of lord Gautam Buddha, which is considered as a pilgrimage site for Buddist is located in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. Lumbini has a lot of temples like Chinese temple, Japanese temple, Mayadevi temple and more.
Formerly Royal Chitwan National Park and Chitwan National Park now is the first national park of Nepal. UNESCO put in World Heritage list in 1984 and it was established in 1973. It falls in the districts of Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Parsa and Makwanpur.
Sagarmatha National Park has been identified with the highest peak of the world, Mt. Everest,called Sagarmatha in Nepali language. This park is protected area in the Himalayas of eastern district Solukhumbu of Nepal.
